The lecture will be concerned with numerical methods for the solution of elliptic PDEs.
In particular, we will consider the finite element method.
Topics of this lecture include:
-Sobolev Spaces
-Weak formulation of elliptic boundary value problems
-Galerkin methods
-finite element spaces
-a priori discretization error estimates
-solution methods for the discrete systems
