Kommentare/ Inhalte: This course provides insights into a modern set of skills that practical lawyers and academic researchers need to be familiar with. It has long been known that “[…] for the rational study of the law, the black letter man may be the man of the present, but the man of the future is the man of statistics and the master of economics” (Oliver Wendell Holmes). In that spirit, the course will explore topics such as contracting, game theory, accounting and finance, law & economics, and statistics.

The course will highlight how these fields may be helpful for everyday legal practice and research. No prior knowledge in either field is required.

This course will be held in English.
Literatur: The main course book is Howell Jackson et al., Analytical Methods for Lawyers (3rd edition 2017). Additional literature will be provided during the course.
