Kommentare/ Inhalte: This course will give an introduction to Comparative Law. The focus will be on on macrocomparison, microcomparison, and methods of comparative law.

Macrocomparison includes the comparison of entire legal systems (French vs English law) and legal families (civil law vs common law) whereas microcomparison looks at legal rules (e.g. contract formation in France and England) and legal solutions (e.g. protection of consumers from unfair contract). Finally the methods and theory of comparative law contain concepts, values, culture functions, paradigms as well as legal transplants and Transnational law.

The course will be held in English.
