APPLICATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAMBURG

We are pleased that you have decided to apply to us! On this page, you will find a five-step guide on how to apply online via STiNE. In the end, you will have submitted all the necessary documents and can look forward to the results of your application with ease.

Application Deadlines

The online application via STiNE is generally possible during the following application deadlines:

winter semester

  • 1 June to 15 July for Bachelor and Staatsexamen programs
  • 1 May to 15 June for Master programs
  • 15 February to 31 March for international master's programs

summer semester

  • 1 December to 15 January

Under the menu item Create Applicant Account, you can already create a user account outside these deadlines. You will subsequently receive your access data for the online application via email. The delivery of your account data may be delayed for up to 2 hours depending on your email provider. Please also check the settings of your SPAM filter. If you wish to apply as a student from abroad for a temporary guest stay within the framework of a university agreement (e.g., Erasmus), the application portal will also be available after the application deadlines.

Important Note

After accepting your study place and subsequently registering, it will no longer be possible to log in with your applicant account! You will receive your new access data/STiNE account with the provisional semester documents.

Please save your rejection or admission notice on your private computer. The applicant account will be deleted after the application process is completed for data protection reasons, and all notices will no longer be available. In some cases, rejection notices are also required by authorities (e.g., the family benefits office for child benefit).
