The course deals with the fundamentals and practice of economic policy advice in Germany on a theoretical and applied level from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Learning objectives:
The aim of the course is to understand the actors and the scope of economic policy advice.
Students should be enabled to make a constructive-critical analysis from different disciplinary perspectives.

Didactic concept:
At the beginning of the seminar, the theoretical foundations of policy advice are developed by lecture units and joint classroom discussions. In the further course of the seminar, case studies will be presented by all students (individual papers!) and discussed together in the seminar.

On one of the seminar dates there will be a one-day excursion to Berlin.
Discussions are planned

  • in the Bundestag with a member of the Bundestag,
  • with experts from an economic research institute, and
  • with speakers from a federal ministry.

Further details will be announced at the beginning of the course.
