Comments/contents:
The project will give students the opportunity to develop and implement a scenario for complext robotic systems and achieve a human given task.
Depending on the selected task, various available robots and sensors might be used and controlled by the students, among them a UR5, UR10e, Kuka LWR and PA10 robot arm, a PR2 robot, 2 Shadow Robotics Dexterous Hands, a number of turtlebot2 platforms, various cameras, tracking systems, laser scanners and force/torque sensors.

All platforms are controlled through the Robot Operating System (ROS) which allows quick and easy integration of the numerous hardware capabilities.

The project is split over two semesters allowing the students to become acquainted to ROS, the robotic platforms, simulator and the TAMS environment, and then solve a complex task which integrates different challenges in the field of robotics, such as navigation, self-localization, object detection, manipulation, human-robot-interaction and others.

ROS is mostly implemented in C/C++ and Python, appropriate knowledge of one of the languages as well as basic Linux skills are required.

The project will be held in German and English.

The project will take place in person at the lab of the TAMS working group.

Learning objectives:
Practical experiences in using and programming cutting-edge robot technology.

Didactic concept:
The project begins each year at the start of the winter semester and is split over two semesters. It is, after consulting the organizers, possible to start the project at the begin of the summer semester. Participation of the integrated seminar intelligent robotics during the winter semester is mandatory.

Literature:
Will be announced during the project. Familiarisation with the ROS tutorials (http://wiki.ros.org/ROS/Tutorials) and Linux is strongly recommended.
