Comments/contents:
The course provides an introduction to conflict mediation and its various fields of application. The focus will not only be on mediation in conflict and peace at the level of international relations, but also on interest management in organizations and companies as well as in the public sector. In addition to the concept of mediation, mediation as a "process of trust" will be dealt with in phases, the concept of negotiation will be distinguished from that of mediation and the principles of mediation will be explored. A special focus of the course is on the practical exercise of "conflict mapping" and the application of visualization and creative techniques in mediation for conflict resolution. Participants learn interactively via communication and questioning techniques to talk objectively about emotions and to identify the needs behind the positions of the respective conflict party.
