More information:
In this course, students will expand their knowledge of current socio-cultural and political-economic life in Russia. The course is structured according to the thematic principle and covers a wide range of topics: "Environmental problems", "Modern problems of globalisation", "Artificial intelligence", "Linguistic image of the world", "Mass media", "Russian culture in emigration" and others. In this course, students will discuss topical issues, give short presentations and participate in discussions, which will help them improve their oral expression.

Für die Sprachen Italienisch, Russisch, Türkisch, Chinesisch und Portugiesisch entscheiden derzeit die Dozenten, ob Ihr Niveau für den Kurs ausreichend ist. Bitte melden Sie sich zunächst in STiNE an und sprechen Sie dann in der ersten Kursstunde die Dozenten an.

Enrollment requirements:


Proof of appropriate language level (minimum B2 for B2 courses, C1 for C1 courses), not older than three years.

This can be achieved by:

Taking our online placement test (link)

Submitting a language certificate from a course at the appropriate level (see website for accepted certificates).

Sending us a copy of the Transcript of Records from STiNE showing completion of a course at the appropriate level.

After sending us the required documents you can then go ahead and register for the respective course(s).

Registrations without proof of the appropriate placement test or certificate will be cancelled.

N.B. If you have already had your level assessed by us in the last three years or have already presented us with a certificate then you do not need to prove your level again.

Learning objectives:
This course will help students achieve a higher level of communication in Russian by improving their mastery of four types of language activities: both receptive - listening and reading - and productive - speaking and writing.
Special attention is paid to academic speaking and academic writing, so that in the future students can actively participate in academic conferences, for example, and move successfully in the social sphere of the Russian-speaking environment.
