Kommentare/ Inhalte: This seminar deals with (collective as well as individual) decision making under normative uncertainty from the perspective of philosophy and political theory. What should one do if one does not know what is ethically right? As an important application, we focus on animal ethics and animal politics (how should we treat animals if we are individually uncertain or collectively disagree on their moral status?). In the seminar, we look at groundwork on human-animal relations, decisions under normative uncertainty and issues of how to deal with normative uncertainty in a democratic society.
