Lernziel: The World Economic Forum considered insufficient education and lack of valuation models as the most important barriers of integrating ESG in mainstream investment decision. The course aims at overcoming this challenge. It delivers exactly the fundamentals of ESG investment analysis and modelling. The programme’s objective is to support students in measuring and integrating ESG in investment processes and providing them with a better understanding of the value drivers of different assets.
Vorgehen: Module1: ESG and Performance Empirical studies 2. Module: Fundamentals Describe motivation, drivers and regulatory framework of ESG. History of sustainability and ESG Drivers of the market Motivation to engage in ESG 3. Module: Approaches and strategies Define ESG terms and concepts to the end of having a common terminology and promote the conceptual framework that underpins EFFFA Commission on ESG'S work. SRI strategies Market trends 4. Module: Investment Process Chain Description and definitions of how to integrate ESG into investment processes. This module delivers the fundamental framework on which the ESG integration and valuation module (5) will be based. Investment policy making Asset allocation Selection Control Reporting 5. Module: ESG Integration and Valuation Showcase the integration of ESG in the very investment valuation process. Theoretical foundation: Identification of ESG value drivers and their impact on cash flows, beta, external cost Measurement of ESG value drivers Disclosure and data source (Bloomberg, GRI, EFFAS, company reporting) Integration of KPIs in valuation models (DCF, multiples) Case Study on Company Valuation Equity case study Application of multiples, DCF, forecasting based on Bloomberg/Uncredit Halos Creed critical assessment on fit-for-purposes of valuation models 6.
