Kommentare/ Inhalte: The aim of this course is to prepare students of the master’s program in Politics, Economics and Philosophy (PEP) for the economics courses of the PEP curriculum. Participants are introduced to the language and fundamental concepts of decision theory and game theory. Participation is voluntary but strongly recommended, in particular for those who do not have a first degree in economics.
Lernziel: The aim is to introduce participants to the language, fundamental concepts and basic results from microeconomics that are required to follow the economics courses of the PEP curriculum, for instance Social Choice and Welfare, Behavioural Economics, and Public Choice.
Vorgehen: The course takes place from October 19 to October 22 and from October 26 to October 29. It consists of online lectures and tutorials taking place via Zoom. Lectures take place from 10.15-11.45 and tutorials from 13.15-15.30 on each day. Tutorials consist of group work and class discussions on problems/exercises. They will allow participants to familiarize themselves with the concepts covered in the lectures and apply them to the exercises. Lecture slides and exercises will be provided via Stine. Technical details will be announced before the start of the course.
