Kommentare/ Inhalte: The Course "Multidisciplinary Introduction to Sexology" aims to give students of all faculties an introductory overview of sexual science. A variety of areas, from psychology to biology to education, are addressed in order to cover basic information about sexual health and sexual rights. We ourselves are psychological students who are seeing the need of integrating sexuality in the general curriculum. So, let’s talk about sex in a participative and academical space, created for students by students.
Lernziel: The course is intended to encourage you to question your own perspective on the most varied areas of sexuality and to create awareness for the wide range of topics. Additionally, there will be a place for questions: for answering them and finding new ones.
Vorgehen: Build up on a theoretical input (inform of papers, videos, external speakers, …), weekly discussions will be hold via zoom. The official language is English, but we'll try to give additional literature in German language, where possible. Therefore, you will gain a wide vocabulary about sexology, in English and in German.
Zusätzliche Hinweise zu Prüfungen: In order to successfully complete the course students are asked to regularly attend the lectures and critical discuss the covered topics in a form of a learning diary. We will describe the modality detailed in the first lesson. Moreover, the students will obtain a certification in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sexualforschung (DGfS) as well as the possibility to recognize the course by the Zentrum Gender & Diversity.
