Comments/contents:
Fundamentals of
- linear time-invariant systems
- Fourier analysis
- digitization of signals
- data compression
- examples from media signal processing, particulary sound and image processing.
Learning objectives:
The students get to know the fundamentals of modern methods for the representation of signals and systems as well as signal processing. They are able to apply these concepts to applications in media signal processing (in particular sound and image processing).
Literature:
• John G. Proakis, Dimitris K. Manolakis, Digital Signal Processing, Pearson 2014.
• Alan V. Oppenheim, Ronald W. Schafer. Discrete-Time Signal Processing, 2014.
• Martin Meyer, Signalverarbeitung, Springer Vieweg, 2014.
• Karl-Dirk Kammeyer, Kristian Kroschel, Digitale Signalverarbeitung, Springer Vieweg, 2012
Additional examination information:
There will be a written examination (Klausur). Dates for the exam will be offered in the beginning and in the end of the non-lecture period.
