The lecture will be concerned with finite difference and finite volume methods for the numerical solution of PDEs.

Topics of this lecture include:
-weak formulation of transport equations
-conservative discretization of transport equations
-finite difference/volume methods for elliptic and parabolic PDEs
-consistency and stability, convergence
-a priori discretization error estimates
-solution methods for the discrete systems
