More information:
We will give wit this lecture an introduction to basics of optimization theory in infinite dimensional spaces and numerical solution techniques for solving contained/unconstrained minimization problems. Basis knowledge about functional analytic tools and techniques from optimization are required.

1)  In the first 7 weeks, the course "Optimization" will be given together with the course   "Convex optimization  & applications".   You thus need to decide for one of the two course options!

2) There is one joint Moodle course for both lectures named

Learning objectives:
We will give an introduction to convex optimization in the first half of the course and will disscuss concrete algorithms applications from imaging and inverse problems in the second part of the course.
