Comments/contents:
This course provides an introduction to the ergodic theory. We will discuss the following topics:
* Measure-preserving transformations
* Ergodicity
* Strong and weak mixing
* Birkhoff's ergodic theorem
* Corresponding examples and simulations
The course is aimed for Master students, but it could suit well interested Bachelor students too. Basic knowledge of Real Analysis, Probability Theory, Measure Theory, and Functional Analysis is recommended. The Bachelor course "Ordinary Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems" by Prof. Jens Rademacher is well connected with the presented one.
