Image processing is a field of computer science that deals with developing and applying algorithms for processing and analyzing images. Image processing topics range from processing images (smoothing, sharpening, automatically cutting out partial areas) to complex image analysis (e.g. object and scene recognition).
Learning objectives:
To gain insights into image processing topics and an initial understanding of what is possible with image processing methods today. These are the building blocks to fully grasping computer vision. Dealing with scientific literature, research, creating and giving scientific presentations and preparing scientific reports.
Didactic concept:
The course will be given as a block course. We will meet twice throughout the semester, where an introduction will be given by the organizer. The seminar topics will be presented as well. During the block course, your chosen topic should be presented in the form of a presentation. In the end, a writen scientific report should also be submitted.
