Comments/contents:
The project will give students the opportunity to develop and implement a scenario for different robots to cooperate and solve a human given complex task. We will use an state-of-the art UR5 robot arm equipped with force-torque sensing and a 3-finger gripper, 4 mobile Turtlebot platforms and several sensors i.e. Kinect2, laser range finder and cameras.
Both platforms run the state of the art Robot Operating System (ROS) which allows quick and easy integration of the numerous capabilities of the robot.

The project is split over two semesters allowing the students to become acquainted to ROS, the robotic platforms, simulator and the TAMS environment and then solve a complex task which integrates different challenges in the field of robotics, such as navigation, self-localization, object detection, manipulation, human-robot-interaction and others.

ROS understands C/C++ and Python, appropriate knowledge of one of the languages as well as basic Linux skills are required.

The project will be held in German and English.

Learning objectives:
Practical experiences in using and programming cutting-edge robot technology.

Didactic concept:
The project begins each year at the start of the summer semester and is split over two semesters. It is, after consulting the organizers, possible to start the project at the begin of the winter semester. Participation of the integrated seminar intelligent robotics during the summer semester is mandatory.

Literature:
Will be announced during the project. Familiarisation with the ROS tutorials (http://wiki.ros.org/ROS/Tutorials) and Linux is strongly recommended.
