Epistemology is one of the core areas of philosophy. Its subjects are the nature, structure, development and limits of human knowledge. This course will address basic questions of epistemology in general, but also more specific questions from epistemology and the philosophy of science that arise in economics and social sciences.
This English-language course is primarily aimed at students of the Master’s programme Politics, Economics, and Philosophy. Limited spaces will be available for students of the BA/MA programme in Philosophy.

Course material will be made available via OpenOLAT. Consultation-hour by appointment.
Literature:
M. Risjord, Philosophy of Social Science (Routledge, 2014), is a good introduction to many of the topics that will be covered in the course. The book is available as an e-book via the university library.
