The seminar will be held in English. At the beginning, participants will learn about the theoretical background of Transformational Sustainability Entrepreneurship (TSE) and conclude the seminar with a short assignment on these. The main goal of the seminar is that the participants learn to think entrepreneurially, specifically in a transformative-sustainable way. Students will feel more empowered to be able to contribute shaping the world towards a more sustainable one. For this purpose, participants will be enabled to independently develop their entrepreneurial-transformative ideas and to develop them professionally and creatively. They will apply the Impact Gaps Canvas and creative methods, among others. They develop their own realistic business ideas and reflect on their own learning process and the practical use of the theoretical background. Furthermore, particpants will get to know today's transformative entrepreneurs and the "Impact Hub Hamburg" and learn from them how their ideas came about. Last but not least, participants will learn how to pitch their ideas in a professional and appealing way.
Learning objectives:
The seminar Transformational Sustainability Entrepreneurship puts emphasis on the reflection of ethical aspects in the context of business and real-economy. Students freely reflect philosophically and practically on social normative thinking and behavior in entrepreneurial and business contexts. It is the goal to learn thinking in transformative alternatives and realizing these in a start-up.
Didactic concept:
Seminar programme:
Phase I: UNDERSTANDING- gaining conceptual understanding of different entrepreneurial concepts in the field of sustainability. It will also be about exploring the thematic field of participants' interests (e.g. using the Gaps Canvas). At the end of the seminar, the students write a short assignment about theoretical backgrounds.
Phase II: CREATIVE THINKING - Learning creative thinking using different methods and applying them to idea development for Transformational Sustainability Entrepreneurship.
Phase III: PITCHING - Pitch training and pitch event with social entrepreneurs from Hamburg
The seminar will be held in English.
Literature:
Before the first session, there will be a digital introduction explaining the agenda and the mandatory preparation for the first session. For a fruitful start, it is very important that each of the students have read a text by the first session, which will be discussed in detail in groups. The texts will be assigned to the participants and uploaded in WiSoCommsy in the two weeks before the course starts, so that there is enough time to start well prepared into the seminar.
Additional examination information:
Exam requirements are to give a pitch-presentation (40%) and to write a short written assignment about the field of transformational sustainability entrepreneurship (60%).
